HandPunch is an identity verification system that reads the size and shape of the human hand to verify a person's identity. It does not read fingerprints or the palm. It uses optics and a CCD camera to capture a three-dimensional image of the hand and converts it into a template. By entering the employee's ID number and placing the hand, the system can compare the hand image with the template and store the punch information.
The HandPunch 3000/4000 is a biometric terminal that verifies identity by reading the size and shape of a human hand using light and a CCD camera, rather than fingerprints or palm prints. The system captures a three-dimensional image, converts it to a template, and stores it in a database linked to an employee's ID number.
A user must place their hand on the platen at least three times during the enrollment process.
This occurs because one or more previous hand readings were not accepted and the system is requesting a replacement reading.
