ST72101/ST72212/ST72213 8-bit MCU with 4 to 8K ROM/OTP/EPROM, 256 bytes RAM, ADC, WDG, SPI and 1 or 2 timers
This document describes the ST72101, ST72213, and ST72212 HCMOS Microcontroller Units (MCUs), which are members of the ST7 family based on an industry-standard 8-bit core. These devices normally operate at a 16MHz oscillator frequency but can be placed in WAIT, SLOW, or HALT modes under software control to reduce power consumption.
The microcontrollers feature an enhanced instruction set with true bit manipulation and indirect addressing modes. Key on-chip peripherals include a digital Watchdog Timer, one or two independent 16-bit Timers (with input capture and output compare capabilities), a synchronous SPI serial interface, and an 8-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) available on the ST72212 and ST72213 models. The devices include up to 4K or 8K bytes of User Program Memory (ROM/OTP/EPROM) and 256 bytes of Data RAM.
| User Program Memory | 4 to 8K bytes |
|---|---|
| Data RAM | 256 bytes, including 64 bytes of stack |
| I/O Lines | 22 multifunctional bidirectional I/O lines |
| Timers | One or two 16-bit Timers |
| Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) | 8-bit ADC with 6 channels |
| Operating Supply Voltage | 3 to 5.5V |
| CPU Frequency | 8MHz max (16MHz oscillator) |
| Temperature Range | -40°C to +125°C |
The devices normally operate at a 16MHz oscillator frequency, with a maximum CPU speed of 8MHz.
The ADC with 6 multiplexed analog inputs is included only in the ST72212 and ST72213 models.
The devices include 256 bytes of Data RAM, which includes 64 bytes reserved for the stack.
