About this manual

The STLC3080 is a subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC) designed for public, transmission, and private applications. It implements all key features of the BORSHT function, including battery feeding with programmable DC characteristics, off-hook transmission, loop start/ground start detection, and automatic dual battery operation.

The device offers two control mode configurations: slave mode or automatic activation mode. Key features include soft battery reversal with a programmable transition time, integrated ring trip detection with synchronized disconnection, metering pulse injection, and low power dissipation in all operating modes. It is available in a surface mount TQFP44 package.

Frequently asked questions

What are the operating modes of the STLC3080?

The device supports eight operating modes: Power-Down, Stand-By, Active N.P., Active R.P., Ringing (with SLIC Active N.P.), Ringing (with SLIC Active R.P.), Ground start, and High Impedance Feeding.

Does the STLC3080 support automatic ring trip?

Yes, when in ringing mode, the device automatically disconnects the ringing signal upon detecting a ring trip without waiting for a card controller command.

What is the typical power consumption in High Impedance Feeding mode?

In this mode, most of the circuit is switched off to reduce total power consumption in On-hook to 30mW typically.
