About this manual

The STG 1703 is a fully integrated dual clock synthesizer and 16-bit pixel port true color Palette-DAC designed for PC graphics subsystems. It features two phase-locked loop (PLL) synthesizers that provide independently controlled video and memory clock outputs, requiring only a single external crystal for the on-chip PLL reference.

The device supports various pixel modes including serializing 16-bit ports up to 135MHz and standard 8-bit ports up to 110MHz. It includes programmable power-down features, an on-chip checksum test, and is designed in a 68-pin PLCC package compatible with the STG1700/1702 series.
