This document introduces the features and characteristics of VNQ5160K-E Quad channel high side driver in automotive applications.
The VNQ5160K-E is a monolithic device designed for driving resistive or inductive loads with one side connected to ground. It utilizes STMicroelectronics VIPower™ MOS technology and includes active Voc pin voltage clamp protection against low energy spikes.
The device features four identical channels, each with an open drain status output for diagnostics. It offers comprehensive protection including undervoltage shutdown, overvoltage clamp, output stuck to Vcc detection, load current limitation, and thermal shutdown with automatic restart. It is compatible with 3.0 V CMOS inputs and complies with the 2002/95/EC European directive.
| Operating voltage range | 4.5 to 36 V |
|---|---|
| Max on-state resistance (per channel) | 160 mΩ |
| Current limitation (typical) | 4 A |
| Off-state supply current (typical) | 2 µA |
| Maximum switching energy (single pulse) | 33 mJ |
| Electrostatic discharge protection (Human Body Model) | 4000 V |
| Junction operating temperature | -40 to 150 °C |
The operating supply voltage range is 4.5 V to 36 V.
Yes, it detects open-load conditions in both on and off states when the STAT_DIS pin is left open or driven low.
The device includes thermal shutdown with automatic restart to recover normal operation once a fault condition disappears.
