About this manual

The document serves as a user guide for the Hornady NWE Dimension Custom-Grade reloading die sets. It covers essential preparation steps, including cleaning the dies and inspecting cartridge cases before use. The manual details specific procedures for lubricating rifle cases to prevent sticking or damage during the sizing process.

Detailed instructions are provided for adjusting the three main components of the die set: the size die (including full-length adjustment), the seating die (for both crimped and non-crimped bullets), and the expander/decapping assembly. The guide also explains how to perform caliber necking-up operations using the tapered expander.

Frequently asked questions

How should rifle cases be lubricated before sizing?

Rifle cases must be lubricated with a case lube like ONE SHOT Case Lube or UNIQUE. Oil-type lubes are not recommended as they may contaminate the powder.

What should be done if a case gets stuck in the die?

The company can remove the case without damaging the die. The user must send the die to Customer Service with $4 for postage and handling charges.

How is the expander/decap assembly adjusted?

Loosen the spindle lock, adjust the spindle so approximately 3/16" of the decap pin is below the end of the die, and then tighten the lock until it no longer rotates.
