STMicroelectronics AN3276 Application Note: Efficiency Improvement in PFC Applications with Back Current Circuit

This Application note describes a new back current circuit (BC2) for PFC applications, based on the soft switching method. The patented circuit has better efficiency/cost/power and density/EMI trade-offs than high voltage SiC Schottky diodes, and is suitable for applications such as desktop server power supplies, solar inverters and µinverters.
