About this manual

This document is a technical datasheet for the ZS RTC-8583/8593 series of Real Time Clock (RTC) modules. These devices are designed to be C-Bus compatible and feature a built-in crystal unit that requires no adjustment with an external capacitor.

The module supports three modes of operation: internal crystal oscillation, an external 50 Hz clock input, and event counting. It includes alarm and timer functions and is available in small SOP packages (14-pin for RTC8583, 16-pin for RTC8593SB). The device operates with a wide voltage range of 2.5V to 6.0V.
