This document serves as an addendum to the IHL 7200 Series Ventilatory System Operator's Manual. It specifically addresses a safety warning concerning the use of the Sine Waveform setting in combination with specific flow and FiO2 settings. Users must adhere to these restrictions to avoid triggering high pressure alarms and unintended valve openings.
These settings will result in the delivery of maximum flow to the breathing circuit, which may invoke the HIP alarm and open the exhalation valve simultaneously.
The prohibited combinations include Sine 10 Lpm with FiO2 52 to .69, Sine 11 Lpm with FiO2 .55 to .66, Sine 12 Lpm with FiO2 58 to .61, and Sine 13 Lpm with FiO2 .60.
