This document introduces a high-performance microprocessor called 80C286 with memory management and protection features. It is compatible with NMOS 80286 and has a wide range of clock rates and low power operation. The processor has a large address space, integrated memory management, four-level memory protection, and support for virtual memory and operating systems. It also has two operating modes, compatibility with 80287 numeric data co-processor, and a high-bandwidth bus interface.
