This user's guide for the MareNostrum supercomputer is intended to provide the minimum amount of information needed by a new user of this system.
The guide introduces the MareNostrum supercomputer, describing its hardware architecture, network topology and the resources available to users. It explains how to connect securely, transfer files, and run graphical applications.
Detailed sections cover the different file systems (root, GPFS, local disks and HSM), job classes, software environment, and how to obtain help or cite the system in publications. Appendices provide SSH and X‑forwarding configuration examples.
