This document introduces the SCALE driver developed by ABB Switzerland AG, which is based on a chip set specifically developed for reliable driving and safe operation of IGBTs and power MOSFETs. The SCALE series drivers have the outstanding properties of scalability, compactness, versatility, low cost, and ease of use. They are suitable for various applications, including inverters, motor drive technology, traction, converters, power engineering, switched-mode power supplies, radiology and laser technology, DC/DC converters, research, and RF generators and converters.
