This data sheet introduces the features and characteristics of the D2587P-Type (with wavelength locker)/D2547P-Type isolated DFB laser module
The Agere D2587P-Type and D2547P-Type DFB laser modules provide high‑power (20 mW CW) output with wavelength‑selection (D2587P) or isolation (D2547P). They are designed for use with external lithium‑niobate modulators in telecommunications, SONET/SDH and digital video applications. The modules feature a hermetic 14‑pin metal/ceramic butterfly package, polarization‑maintaining fiber pigtail and internal optical isolator.
Key functional blocks include internal wavelength‑locking optics (two etalons and photodiodes), a thermoelectric cooler with thermistor feedback, and a back‑facet InGaAs PIN photodiode for power monitoring.
