Norton Ghost 12.0 is a data backup and recovery software that is compatible with previous versions of Norton Ghost and Norton Save & Restore. It supports performance throttling, triggers backups on key events such as new program installations or sudden increases in data storage, provides advanced compression and encryption, integrates with Google™ Desktop, automatically monitors and optimizes backup disk space, and provides an at-a-glance system status that displays all scheduled backups as well as the degree of backup protection for each drive on your computer.
Norton Ghost 12.0 provides backward‑compatible restoration from backups created with earlier Norton Ghost or Norton Save & Restore versions. It includes performance throttling, event‑based backups, advanced compression and encryption, Google Desktop integration, storage management, and an at‑a‑glance system status view.
The software runs on Windows XP (32‑bit) with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista (32‑/64‑bit) and requires a 300 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 160 MB free disk space, .NET 2.0, a DVD or CD‑ROM drive, and Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. It supports FAT16/16X, FAT32/32X, NTFS, Dynamic Disks, Linux EXT2/3, Linux Swap, as well as CDR/RW, DVD±R/RW, USB, FireWire, and Iomega Zip/Jaz drives.
