How can I check if the ground (E) cable is properly connected?

Set the digital multimeter to 750 V AC, touch the metal probe to the ground (E) port, and if the meter reads 0 the ground connection is standard; a reading above 10 V indicates an improper ground.

What reading indicates a correct live (L) cable connection?

When the multimeter set to 750 V AC reads about 120 V on the live (L) port, the live cable is correctly connected; a reading below 60 V suggests an issue.
