Set the temperature control knob to 480 °C (896 °F) before starting the replacement.
The heating element should read 13‑16 Ω and the sensor should read 2 Ω or less.
Adjust the temperature calibrator (marked CAL) with a small screwdriver until the tip temperature reads 480 °C.
