Honeywell HMR3000 Digital Compass Module User Manual

The HMR3000 digital compass module uses a magnetoresistive sensor and two-axis tilt sensors to provide heading information. The compass with electronic leveling provides accurate heading even when tilted up to 40 degrees. The HMR3000 is completely surface mount and contains no moving parts, making it extremely reliable and robust. This low-power, small-form-factor device has a non-ferromagnetic metal housing that makes it easy to mount and secure to any platform. The HMR3000 is easy to use and extremely versatile. It allows the user to configure the output of the compass, including a combination of six NMEA standard messages, change the measurement parameters of the magnetometer to meet the needs of different applications, etc. A complete compass automatic calibration program will correct the magnetic influence of the platform. The wide dynamic range of the magnetometer ( ±1G or 100µT) allows the HMR3000 to operate in local magnetic fields.

About this manual

The HMR3000 is a compact, solid‑state digital compass that uses a magnetoresistive sensor and a dual‑axis tilt sensor to provide heading, pitch and roll data. It offers electronic leveling, works up to 40° tilt, and supports six NMEA‑0183 sentence formats via RS‑232 or RS‑485.

The manual covers three product variants, wiring diagrams, command strings, calibration procedures (built‑in and PC‑software methods), configurable output rates, and detailed specifications such as power requirements, temperature range and magnetic field dynamic range. This manual is written in Chinese.
