This ARCA-SWISS document presents the Swiss company's modular large format camera system, built around the F-Line and M-Line camera lines. It describes how standardised, interchangeable components let a photographer change formats quickly, from 6x7cm up to 8x10", and how the format frames, bellows and controls work together.
The brochure covers the format frames and their rise and fall mechanisms, triaxial yaw-free orbix movements, self-locking component mounting, viewing aids such as the binocular reflex viewer, compendium lens shading, lens and shutter options including Copal, Prontor Professional and the Microlink shutter, and film and digital backs.
| Format range | 6x7 cm up to 8x10" |
|---|---|
| Lens focal length range | 35 mm to 1000 mm |
| Medium format size | 6x9 cm |
| Large format size | 4x5 inch |
Format changes are made by switching conversion sets, allowing use from 6x7cm up to 8x10" without additional accessories.
With orbix the optics move at the centre of a circle perpendicular to the base of the frame and located above the vertical movement axis, giving triaxial yaw-free movement.
Yes, ARCA-SWISS format frames can be swapped from front standard to rear standard.
Copal and Prontor Professional mechanical self-cocking shutters are described, along with the digitally controlled ARCA-SWISS Microlink shutter.
