This manual introduces the basic characteristics, features, instruction sets and applications of dot matrix character liquid crystal display module, which can help users better use the product.
This manual provides detailed instructions for the dot‑matrix character LCD display module, including safety precautions, storage guidelines, and recommended handling procedures. It also describes the module’s electrical characteristics, interface timing, and command set.
Technical sections cover the module’s circuit diagram, pin functions, timing parameters, and example connections to microcontrollers. An appendix lists the internal character set of the HD44780/KS0066 controller. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Power Supply Voltage (VDD) | 5 V ±10 % |
|---|---|
| LCD Driver Voltage (V0) | 0 V to 5 V |
| Standard RAM | 80 bytes |
| Custom Character RAM | 64 bytes (8 custom 5×8 chars or 4 custom 5×11 chars) |
| Character Generator ROM | 192 characters (160 5×7, 32 5×10) |
| Display Size | 8 × 40 characters (various configurations 8×1 ~ 40×4) |
| Enable Cycle Time (TcycE) | ≥ 1000 ns |
| Enable Pulse Width (Pweh) | ≥ 450 ns |
The protective film must remain on the module surface until the whole assembly is completed; it should not be removed earlier to avoid contaminating or damaging the display.
Store the module in an anti‑static bag at temperatures between –10 °C and +35 °C, in a dark place away from strong light, without any objects pressing on its surface.
First connect the logic power, then the drive power; when powering down, disconnect the drive power before the logic power to avoid voltage spikes that could damage the module.
