M35046-XXXSP/FP is a character pattern display control IC produced by Mitsubishi, which uses a silicon gate CMOS process and is housed in a 20-pin shrink DIP (M35046-XXXSP) or a 20-pin shrink SOP package (M35046- XXXFP). This chip can be used for liquid crystal displays and plasma displays for display control, supporting 288 characters of display, a character dot matrix of 12×18, and supporting 4 kinds of character sizes, 1000 horizontal display positions and 1023 vertical display positions, supporting 8 kinds of color output.
