The LMX2487E is a low power, high performance delta-sigma fractional-N PLL with an auxiliary integer-N PLL. It is fabricated using National Semiconductor's advanced process. With delta-sigma architecture, fractional spurs at lower offset frequencies are pushed to higher frequencies outside the loop bandwidth. The ability to push close in spur and phase noise energy to higher frequencies is a direct function of the modulator order. Unlike analog compensation, the digital feedback technique used in the LMX2487E is highly resistant to changes in temperature and variations in wafer processing. The LMX2487E delta-sigma modulator is programmable up to fourth order, which allows the designer to select the optimum modulator order to fit the phase noise, spur, and lock time requirements of the system. Serial data for programming the LMX2487E is transferred via a three line high speed (20 MHz) MICROWIRE interface. The LMX2487E offers fine frequency resolution, low spurs, fast programming speed, and a single word write to change the frequency. This makes it ideal for direct digital modulation applications, where the N counter is directly modulated with information. The LMX2487E is available in a 24 lead 4.0 X 4.0 X 0.8 mm LLP package.

LM150/LM350A/LM350 3-Amp Adjustable Regulators

The LM117 series of adjustable 3-terminal positive voltage regulators is capable of supplying in excess of 1.5A over a 1.2V to 37V output range. They are exceptionally easy to use and require only two external resistors to set the output voltage. Further, both line and load regulation are better than standard fixed regulators. Also, the LM117 is packaged in standard transistor packages which are easily mounted and handled. In addition to higher performance than fixed regulators, the LM117 series offers full overload protection available only in IC's. Included on the chip are current limit, thermal overload protection and safe area protection. All overload protection circuitry remains fully functional even if the adjustment terminal is disconnected. Normally, no capacitors are needed unless the device is situated more than 6 inches from the input filter capacitors in which case an input bypass is needed. An optional output capacitor can be added to improve transient response. The adjustment terminal can be bypassed to achieve very high ripple rejection ratios which are difficult to achieve with standard 3-terminal regulators. Besides replacing fixed regulators, the LM117 is useful in a wide variety of other applications. The DS15EA101 is an adaptive equalizer optimized for equal- izing data transmitted over copper cables. It operates over a wide range of data rates from 150 Mbps to 1.5+ Gbps and automatically adapts to equalize any cable length from zero meters to lengths that attenuate the signal by 35 dB at 750 MHz. It allows either single-ended or differential in- put drive, which enables equalization of coaxial cables as well as differential twin-ax and twisted pair cables. It also features an LOS output and an output en- able which, when tied together, disable the output when no signal is present. The DS15EA101 is powered from a single 3.3V supply and consumes 210 mW at 1.5 Gbps. It operates over the full −40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range and is available in a space saving 4 x 4 mm LLP-16 package which allows for high density placement of components in multi-channel ap- plications.

The ADC108S022 is a low-power, eight-channel CMOS 10-bit analog-to-digital converter specified for conversion throughput rates of 50 kSPS to 200 kSPS. It features low power consumption, variable power management, independent analog and digital supplies, SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP compatibility.

The LM2678 is a high-efficiency 5A step-down voltage regulator from TI. It integrates all active functions and can drive a 5A load with excellent line and load regulation characteristics. The regulator uses a low on-resistance DMOS power switch to achieve high efficiency of up to 92%. The series includes fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, and 12V, as well as an adjustable output version.

The LMC6035/6 is a low power, low voltage op amp from National, with a guaranteed supply voltage range of 2.7V to 15.5V, ultra low input current, high gain and wide input common mode range.

LM117/LM317A/LM317 3-Terminal Adjustable Regulator General Description

The LM1084 is a low dropout voltage regulator with a maximum dropout of 1.5V at 5A of load current. It has the same pin-out as National Semiconductor’s industry standard LM317. The LM1084 is available in an adjustable version, which can set the output voltage with only two external resistors. It is also available in three fixed voltages: 3.3V, 5.0V and 12.0V. The fixed versions intergrate the adjust resistors. The LM1084 circuit includes a zener trimmed bandgap ref- erence, current limiting and thermal shutdown. The LM1084 series is available in TO-220 and TO-263 pack- ages. Refer to the LM1085 for the 3A version, and the LM1086 for the 1.5A version.

The LM6171 is a high speed unity-gain stable voltage feedback amplifier. It offers a high slew rate of 3600V/µs and a unity-gain bandwidth of 100 MHz while consuming only 2.5 mA of supply current. The LM6171 has very impressive AC and DC performance which is a great benefit for high speed signal processing and video applications. The ±15V power supplies allow for large signal swings and give greater dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio. The LM6171 has high output current drive, low SFDR and THD, ideal for ADC/DAC systems.
