The HIN202, HIN206, HIN207, HIN208, HIN211, HIN213 family of RS-232 transmitters/receivers interface circuits meet all ElA RS-232E and V.28 specifications, and are particularly suited for those applications where ±12V is not available. They require a single +5V power supply and feature onboard charge pump voltage converters which generate +10V and -10V supplies from the 5V supply. The family of devices offers a wide variety of RS-232 transmitter/receiver combinations to accommodate various applications (see Selection Table).

The ISL28190/ISL28290 is a single/dual ultra-low noise, ultra-low distortion, rail-to-rail op amp from Intersil.

The ISL22416 is a single digitally controlled potentiometer with low noise, low power, SPI bus, and 128 taps. It features non-volatile memory and can be used in a wide range of applications including control, parameter adjustments, and signal processing.

ISL9206 is a highly cost-effective fixed-secret hash engine based on Intersil’s second generation FlexiHash™ technology. Device authentication is achieved through a challenge-response scheme customized for low-cost applications, where cloning via eavesdropping without knowledge of the device’s secret code is not economically viable. When used for its intended applications, the ISL9206 offers the same level of effectiveness as other significantly more expensive high-maintenance hash algorithm and authentication schemes. The ISL9206 has a wide operating voltage range, and is suitable for direct powering from a 1-cell Li-Ion/Li-Poly or a 3-cell series NiMH battery pack. The ISL9206 can also be powered by the XSD bus when the bus pull-up voltage is 3.3V or higher. The device connects directly to the cell terminals of a battery pack, and includes on-chip voltage regulation circuit, POR, and a non-crystal based oscillator for bus timing reference. Communication with the host is achieved through a single-wire XSD interface - a light-weight subset of Intersil’s ISD bus interface. The XSD bus is compatible for use with serial ports offered by all 8250 compatible UART’s or a single GPIO (general purpose input and output) pin of a microprocessor. A clone prevention solution utilizing the ISL9206 offers safety and revenue protection at the lowest cost and power, and is suitable for protection against after-market replacement.

The CA3338 family are CMOS/SOS high speed R2R voltage output digital-to-analog converters. They can operate from a single +5V supply, at video speeds, and can produce “rail-to-rail” output swings. Internal level shifters and a pin for an optional second supply provide for an output range below digital ground. The data complement control allows the inversion of input data while the latch enable control provides either feedthrough or latched operation. Both ends of the R2R ladder network are available externally and may be modulated for gain or offset adjustments. In addition, “glitch” energy has been kept very low by segmenting and thermometer encoding of the upper 3 bits. The CA3338 is manufactured on a sapphire substrate to give low dynamic power dissipation, low output capacitance, and inherent latch-up resistance.

DG441, DG442 are monolithic CMOS analog switches from Texas Instruments, which are drop-in replacements for the popular DG201A and DG202 series devices. They feature lower analog ON resistance and faster switch time.

ISL22319 is a digitally controlled potentiometer from Intersil, featuring 128 resistor taps, I2C serial interface, and non-volatile storage of wiper position. It can be used in a wide variety of applications including control, parameter adjustments, AC measurement and signal processing.

The HI-201HS is a high-performance, quad SPST, CMOS Analog Switch featuring very fast switching speeds and low ON resistance. The integrated circuit consists of four independently selectable SPST switches and is pin compatible with the industry standard HI-201 switch. Fabricated using silicon-gate technology and the Intersil Dielectric Isolation process, this TTL compatible device offers improved performance over previously available CMOS analog switches. Featuring maximum switching times of 50ns, low ON resistance of 50Ω maximum, and a wide analog signal range, the HI-201HS is designed for any application where improved switching performance, particularly switching speed, is required.

ISL6292 is an integrated single-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery charger capable of operating with an input voltage as low as 2.4V. This charger is designed to work with various types of AC adapters or a USB port. The ISL6292 operates as a linear charger when the AC adapter is a voltage source. The battery is charged in a CC/CV (constant current/constant voltage) profile. The charge current is programmable with an external resistor up to 2A. The ISL6292 can also work with a current-limited adapter to minimize the thermal dissipation. In this case, the ISL6292 combines the benefits of both a linear charger and a pulse charger. The ISL6292 features charge current thermal foldback to guarantee safe operation when the printed circuit board is space limited for thermal dissipation. Additional features include preconditioning of an over-discharged battery, an NTC thermistor interface for charging the battery in a safe temperature range, automatic recharge, and thermally enhanced QFN or DFN packages. ISL29000 is a light-to-current optical sensor from Intersil. It features high sensitivity, low supply current and excellent output linearity. It is suitable for power saving control function in cell phones, notebook PCs, PDAs and other handheld applications.

The HI-506/HI-507 and HI-508/HI-509 are single 16-channel and 8-channel/differential 8-channel and 4-channel CMOS analog multiplexers. They utilize the Dielectric Isolation (DI) process, which eliminates latchup and offers lower substrate leakage and parasitic capacitance. The switching threshold for each digital input is established by an internal +5V reference, providing a guaranteed minimum of 2.4V for logic '1' and a maximum of 0.8V for logic '0'. It can directly interface with signals from most logic families, such as CMOS, TTL, DTL, and some PMOS, and features transient overvoltage protection.

The ISL54050 is a low ON-resistance, low voltage, bidirectional, dual single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch designed to operate from a single +1.65V to +4.5V supply.

The ISL54200 is a USB 2.0 high/full speed switch chip from Intersil. It supports data transfer rates up to 480Mbps. It has 1.8V logic compatibility and a working voltage range of 2.7V to 3.6V. The chip uses TDFN packaging, with a size of 3mmx3mm.

The HIP2101 is a high frequency, 100V Half Bridge N-Channel power MOSFET driver IC from Intersil. It is equivalent to the HIP2100 with the added advantage of full TTL/CMOS compatible logic input pins. The low-side and high-side gate drivers are independently controlled and matched to 13ns. This gives users total control over dead-time for specific power circuit topologies. Undervoltage protection on both the low-side and high-side supplies force the outputs low. An on-chip diode eliminates the discrete diode required with other driver ICs. A new level-shifter topology yields the low- power benefits of pulsed operation with the safety of DC operation. Unlike some competitors, the high-side output returns to its correct state after a momentary undervoltage of the high-side supply.
