MAXIM MAX14984 handbook

The MAX14984 is an integrated VGA port protector and dual USB power switches that detects the insertion and removal of a monitor and automatically connects the graphics controller when a monitor is detected. In addition to normal VGA signals, it also provides up to 55mA to the VGA port via a switched 5V output. The MAX14984 also features a single active-low enable input to control two 5V USB switches. Each switch supplies 500mA of current with less than 250mV drop from VCC, and is protected against short-circuit faults. Two active-low fault outputs indicate when a fault condition is detected on either output. High-bandwidth analog switches exceed VESA rise/fall time requirements for the RGB channels. The horizontal and vertical synchronization (H/V) buffers shift logic levels to support +2.5V to +5.0V CMOS or TTL-compatible graphics controllers while meeting the VESA drive capability requirement of Q8mA. An internal 2.5V regulator and pullup resistors on the monitor side translate the DDC voltage level to a level that is compatible with the logic level of the graphics controller.

MAXIM DG417/DG418/DG419 handbook

Maxim's redesigned DG417/DG418/DG419 precision, CMOS, monolithic analog switches now feature guaranteed on-resistance matching (3Ω max) between switches and guaranteed on-resistance flatness over the signal range (4Ω max). These switches conduct equally well in either direction and guarantee low charge injection, low power consumption, and an ESD tolerance of 2000V minimum per Method 3015.7. The new design offers low off-leakage current over temperature (less than 5nA at +85°C). The DG417/DG418 are single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switches. The DG417 is normally closed, and the DG418 is normally open. The DG419 is single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) with one normally closed switch and one normally open switch. Switching times are less than 175ns max for tON and less than 145ns max for tOFF. Operation is from a single +10V to +30V supply, or bipolar ±4.5V to ±20V supplies. The improved DG417/DG418/DG419 are fabricated with a 44V silicon-gate process.

MAXIM MAX6381 MAX6390 handbook

The MAX6381-MAX6390 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits monitor power supply voltages from +1.8V to +5.0V while consuming only 3µA of supply current at +1.8V. Whenever VCC falls below the factory-set reset thresholds, the reset output asserts and remains assert- ed for a minimum reset timeout period after VCC rises above the reset threshold. Reset thresholds are available from +1.58V to +4.63V, in approximately 100mV incre- ments. Seven minimum reset timeout delays ranging from 1ms to 1200ms are available. The MAX6381/MAX6384/MAX6387 have a push-pull active-low reset output. The MAX6382/MAX6385/ MAX6388 have a push-pull active-high reset output, and the MAX6383/MAX6386/MAX6389/MAX6390 have an open-drain active-low reset output. The MAX6384/MAX6385/MAX6386 also feature a debounced manual reset input (with internal pullup resistor). The MAX6387/MAX6388/MAX6389 have an auxiliary input for monitoring a second voltage. The MAX6390 offers a manual reset input with a longer VCC reset timeout period (1120ms or 1200ms) and a shorter manual reset timeout (140ms or 150ms). The MAX6381/MAX6382/MAX6383 are available in 3-pin SC70 packages and the MAX6384–MAX6390 are avail- able in 4-pin SC70 packages.

MAXIM MAX9483/MAX9484 handbook

MAX9483/MAX9484 are high performance, multi-mode laser diode drivers (LDDs) designed for CD and DVD combo pick-up heads. The driver features three input channels, an RF oscillator, and two precision current amplifier outputs for driving CD and DVD lasers. By selecting the write control signal and input currents on the input channels, the MAX9483/MAX9484 can support multiple CD and DVD read/write standards such as CD-R/RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM. Peak total output current is 400mA and each channel has a current gain of 100. Oscillator frequency and output amplitude are set using external resistors. The MAX9484 also adds an external resistor pin that allows the oscillation frequency of the two outputs to be set independently. In addition, the MAX9484 is capable of accepting a write control signal in either low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) mode or single-ended mode for reliable high-speed write operations.

Maxim Serially Controlled Low-Voltage 8-Channel SPST Switch MAX395 handbook

The MAX395 is an 8-channel, serially controlled, single-pole/single-throw (SPST) analog switch that offers eight separately controlled switches. The switches conduct equally well in either direction. On-resistance (100Ω max) is matched between switches to 5Ω max and is flat (10Ω max) over the specified signal range. These CMOS devices can operate continuously with dual power supplies ranging from ±2.7V to ±8V or a single supply between +2.7V and +16V. Each switch can handle rail-to-rail analog signals. The off leakage current is only 0.1nA at +25°C or 5nA at +85°C. Upon power-up, all switches are off, and the internal shift registers are reset to zero. The MAX395 is electrically equivalent to two MAX391 quad switches controlled by a serial interface, and is pin compatible with the MAX335. The serial interface is compatible with SPI™/QSPI™ and Microwire™. Functioning as a shift register, it allows data (at DIN) to be clocked in synchronously with the rising edge of clock (SCLK). The shift register’s output (DOUT) enables several MAX395s to be daisy chained. All digital inputs have 0.8V to 2.4V logic thresholds, ensur- ing both TTL- and CMOS-logic compatibility when using ±5V supplies or a single +5V supply.
