The A3940KLP and A3940KLW are designed specifically for automotive applications that require high-power motors. Each provides four high-current gate drive outputs capable of driving a wide range of n-channel power MOSFETs in a full-bridge configuration. Bootstrap capacitors are utilized to provide the above-battery supply voltage required for n-channel FETs. An internal charge pump for the high side allows for dc (100% duty cycle) operation of the bridge. Protection features include supply under/overvoltage, thermal shutdown, and motor lead short-to-battery and short-to-ground fault notification, and a programmable dead-time adjustment for cross- conduction prevention. The overvoltage trip point is user adjustable. The A3940 is supplied in a choice of two power packages, a 28- lead TSSOP with an exposed thermal pad (suffix LP), and a 28-lead wide-body SOIC (suffix LW).

A3938 Three-Phase Power MOSFET Controller

Designed for pulse-width modulated (PWM) current control of three-phase brushless dc motors, the A3936SED is capable of peak output currents to ± 3 A and operating voltages to 50 V. Internal fixed off-time PWM current-control timing circuitry can be configured to operate in slow-, fast- and mixed- decay modes. Internal synchronous rectification control circuitry is provided to improve power dissipation during PWM operation. Internal circuit protection includes thermal shutdown with hysteresis, and crossover current protection. Special power up sequencing is not required. The A3936 is supplied in a 44-pin plastic PLCC with a copper batwing tabs (suffix ‘ED’). The power tabs are at ground potential and need no electrical isolation. This device is also available in a lead-free version (100% matte tin leadframe).

The A3935 is designed specifically for automotive applications that require high-power motors. It provides six high-current gate drive outputs capable of driving a wide range of n-channel power MOSFETs. The A3935 integrates a pulse-frequency modulated boost converter to create a constant supply voltage for driving the external MOSFETs. Bootstrap capacitors are utilized to provide the above battery supply voltage required for n-channel FETs. Direct control of each gate output is possible via six TTL-compatible inputs. A differential amplifier is integrated to allow accurate measurement of the current in the three-phase bridge. Diagnostic outputs can be continuously monitored to protect the driver from short-to-battery, short-to-supply, bridge-open, and battery under/overvoltage conditions. Additional protection features include dead-time, VDD undervoltage, and thermal shutdown. The A3935 is supplied in a choice of three packages, a 44-lead PLCC with copper batwing tabs (suffix ED), a 48-lead low profile QFP with exposed thermal pad (suffix JP), and a 36-lead 0.8 mm pitch SOIC (suffix LQ).

A3932SEQ is a three-phase brushless DC motor controller, which supports 12-50V voltage, and has internal fixed off time PWM current control circuit, maximum current limit is set by input reference voltage and external sensing resistor. It also has optional synchronous rectification, 120-degree spacing Hall sensor commutation logic, MOSFET gate-source voltage monitor, bootstrap capacitor charging current monitor, undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection and etc.

The product is a digital gear tooth sensor with self-calibration function and 9-bit signal capture. It can provide zero-speed performance.
