The ST3232EB and ST3232EC are low power (300µA), high data rate (250kbps), RS-232 drivers and receivers with ±15kV ESD protection.

The ST3237E is a 3 V to 5.5 V powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communication interfaces high data-rate capability and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection at ±8 kV using IEC1000-4-2 contact discharge and ±15 kV using Human Body Model (HBM). The other pins are protected with standard ESD protection at ±2 kV using HBM method. The ST3237C is a transceiver (5 drivers, 3 receivers) for fast modem applications. The device has a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage providing true RS-232 performance from a 3 V to 5.5 V supply using a dual charge pump. The device is guaranteed to run at data rates of 250 kbps in the normal operation mode and 1 Mbps in the very high speed operation mode while maintaining RS-232 output levels.

ST3222E is a 3 V powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interface with low power requirements, high data-rate capabilities and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection to ± 8 kV using IEC1000-4-2 Contact Discharge and ±15 kV using the Human Body Model. ST3222E has a proprietary low dropout transmitter output stage providing true RS-232 performance from 3 to 5 V supplies with a dual charge pump. The charge pump requires only four small 0.1 μF external capacitors for operation form 3 V supply. The device has two receivers and two drivers. The ST3222E features a 1 mA shutdown mode that reduces power consumption and extends battery life in portable systems. Its receivers can remain active in shutdown mode, allowing external devices such as modems to be monitored using only 1 mA supply current. The device is guaranteed to run at data rates of 250 Kbps while maintaining RS-232 output levels. Typical applications are Notebook, Sub-notebook and Palmtop Computers, Battery Powered Equipment, Hand-Held Equipment, Peripherals and Printers.

ST3241EB and ST3241EC are ±15 kV ESD protected 3 to 5.5 V, 400 kbps RS-232 transceivers with auto-power-down. The features include ESD protection for RS-232 I/O pins, 1 µA supply current, minimum guaranteed data rate of 250 kbps, guaranteed 6 V/ms slew rate range, guaranteed mouse drive ability, 0.1 µF external capacitors, and compliance with EIA/TIA-232 specifications.

The ST1480AB/ST1480AC is a 3.3V powered, 15kV ESD protected, up to 12 Mbps true RS-485/RS-422 transceiver. The transceiver has a common mode input voltage range of -7 to 12, a maximum of 1µA low current shutdown mode, guaranteed data rate of 12Mbps, industry standard 75176 pinout, driver overload protection with current limiting and thermal shutdown, guaranteed high receiver output state for floating, shorted or terminated inputs with no signal present, and allows up to 64 transceivers on the bus
