MAXIM MAX66040 Manual
Update: 28 September, 2023
The MAX66040 is a secure memory that complies with the ISO/IEC 14443 Type B standard. It combines 1024 bits of user EEPROM, SHA-1 challenge-and-response authentication, a 64-bit unique identifier (UID), and a 13.56MHz RF interface. The memory is organized into 16 blocks of 8 bytes, with one block for the secret key and two blocks for data and control registers. The integrated SHA-1 engine provides a message authentication code (MAC) using data from the EEPROM and the 64-bit secret key, ensuring secure symmetric authentication for reading and writing to the device. Memory protection features include write protection and EPROM emulation, which can be set for each individual memory page.
