KS 4X-1 temperature controller is a universal, precise, and cost-effective controller for all branches of industry. It provides simple 2-point (on/off) control, continuous PID control or 3-point stepping control. The process value signal is connected via a universal input. A supplementary analog input can be used for heating current measurement or as an external set-point input. Every KS 4X-1 has three process outputs which can be 3 relays or 2 relays plus a universal output. This universal output can be used for operating a solid-state relay, switching or as an analog output. The product has a cycle time of 100 ms and is suitable for fast control loops.

The KS 98 is a compact automation device whose functions are freely structurable by means of function blocks. This enables multi-input con- trol operations, sequence functions and complex mathematical computa- tions to be performed. Depending on its configuration, the KS 98 can be op- erated as PLC, controller, program- mer, or data logger. The unit provides the operating facili- ties for all of these alternatives as standard. Trend and bargraph displays, plus input/ output masks for analog and digital signals are the basis for simple, confident operation of plants and processes. For several frequently-used standard applications, predefined controller op- tions are available. They only need to be configured and have their parame- ters set via the front-panel keys.

The PROFIBUS-DP option enables the KS 94 to be connected to PROFIBUS-DP networks. This allows de-centralized and independent industrial and process controllers to be integrated into PLC or PC systems. The PLC/IPC transfers set-points and control information to the KS 94, and polls process values cyclically. All control functions and the associated scaling and monitoring tasks are executed independently. This ensures high process safety together with short times for engineering and commissioning.
