  • MAXIM MAX13037/MAX13038 Manual

The MAX13037/MAX13038 are automotive contact monitors and level shifters that monitor and debounce eight remote mechanical switches and assert an interrupt (INT) if a switch changes state. The state of each switch is sampled through an SPI™ interface by reading the status register. Any switch can be prohibited from asserting an interrupt by writing to the command register. Four of the switch inputs are intended for ground-connected switches (IN0–IN3) and the other four inputs (IN4–IN7) are programmable in groups of two for either ground- connected or battery-connected switches. Two switch inputs (IN0, IN1) have direct level-shifted outputs (DO0, DO1) to be used for PWM or other timing-based signals. Switch input thresholds are set to 50% of the voltage applied to BATREF. The threshold hysteresis is set by connecting an external resistor from HYST to ground. The MAX13037/MAX13038 supply an adjustable wet- ting current to each closed switch to clean mechanical switch contacts that are exposed to adverse conditions. The MAX13037/MAX13038 feature a low dropout (LDO) linear regulator capable of supplying up to 150mA of current. The MAX13037 LDO has an output voltage of +5V, whereas the MAX13038 has an output voltage of +3.3V. The MAX13037/MAX13038 also feature a watch- dog timer and an open-drain reset output with adjustable timing. The MAX13037/MAX13038 operate with a +6V to +26V battery voltage applied to BAT. The MAX13037/ MAX13038 are available in a 6mm x 6mm, 36-pin SMT package.

  • MAXIM MAX1740/MAX1741 Manual

The MAX1740/MAX1741 subscriber identity module (SIM)/smart card level translators provide level shifting and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for SIM and smart card ports. These devices integrate two unidirectional level shifters for the reset and clock signals, a bidirectional level shifter for the serial data stream, and ±10kV ESD protection on all card contacts. The MAX1740 includes a SHDN control input to aid insertion and removal of SIM and smart cards, while the MAX1741 includes a system-side data driver to support system controllers without open-drain outputs. The logic supply voltage range is +1.425V to +5.5V for the “controller side” and +2.25V to +5.5V for the “card side.” Total supply current is 2.5µA max. Both devices automatically shut down when either power supply is removed. For a complete SIM-card interface, combine the MAX1740/MAX1741 with the MAX1686H 0V/3V/5V regulated charge pump. The MAX1740/MAX1741 are available in ultra-small 10-pin µMAX packages that are only 1.09mm high and half the area of an 8-pin SO. The MAX1740/MAX1741 are compliant with GSM test specifications 11.11 and 11.12.

  • MAXIM DS8007 Manual

The DS8007 is a multiprotocol dual smart card interface that supports all ISO 7816, EMV®, and GSM11-11 requirements. It can directly connect to the nonmultiplexed byte-wide bus of a Maxim secure microcontroller and also access the multiplexed bus of an 80C51-compatible microcontroller through MOVX memory addressing. It provides high-speed automatic smart card processing with support for T = 0, T = 1, and synchronous protocols. It also supports emergency deactivation and a third smart card.

  • MAXIM DS8313/DS8314 handbook

The DS8313 smart card and SIM interface IC is a low-cost, analog front-end for a smart card reader designed for smart card applications that do not require the use of the auxiliary card I/O contacts C4 and C8 (AUX1 and AUX2). The DS8313 supports 5V, 3V, and 1.8V smart cards. The absence of a charge pump reduces active power consumption, and the DS8313 also supports an ultra-low-power 10nA stop mode. The DS8313 is designed to interface between a system microcontroller and the smart card interface, providing all power supply, protection, and level shifting required for IC card applications. The DS8314 is similar to the DS8313, but only uses one analog (smart card) power supply. Therefore, the device has reduced ability to provide power to smart cards, but it is still sufficient for many applications, allowing the DS8314 to drop into many TDA8024 sockets without hardware changes. The DS8313L and DS8314L use a negative polarity-presence detect instead of the default positive-polarity detect. Both devices are available in a 28-pin SO package.

  • MAXIM DS8005 handbook

The DS8005 dual smart card interface is a low-cost, dual analog front-end for an IC card reader interface that needs to communicate with two smart cards in a mutually exclusive fashion. The analog interface is designed for use in ISO 7816, EMV®, and B-CAS applications. The device is functionally similar to two DS8024s with external multiplexing to select the active interface, but also includes low power and 1.8V card support. Additionally, the device is designed for applications where the C4/C8 (AUX1/AUX2) contacts are not required on either card interface. The device is provided in a 28-pin SO package. The pinout is backwards compatible with the DS8313, allowing applications to use the same footprint and PCB for applications that communicate with either one or two smart cards. The device is designed to be used with microcontrollers that contain an ISO 7816 UART, or have the bandwidth to run this protocol in software by bit-banging IO ports. If the microcontroller does not have the capability of running the ISO 7816 UART, the DS8007 is the more appropriate product selection.

  • MAXIM DS8007A Manual

The DS8007A multiprotocol dual smart card interface is an automotive grade, low-cost, dual smart card reader interface supporting all ISO 7816, EMV™, and GSM11-11 requirements.

MAX3100 is a serial communication interface chip for small microcontroller systems.

  • MAXIM MAX3140 handbook

The MAX3140 is a complete universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) and a true fail-safe RS- 485/RS-422 transceiver combined in a single 28-pin QSOP package for space-, cost-, and power-con- strained applications.

  • MAXIM MAX3110E/MAX3111E† Manual

    MAX3110E/MAX3111E is a single-chip solution that integrates an RS-232 transceiver, a UART, and an SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible serial interface. • MAXIM MAX3107 SPI/I C UART with 128-Word FIFOs handbook

The MAX3107 is an advanced universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) with 128 words each of receive and transmit first-in/first-out (FIFO) that can be controlled through I2C or high-speed SPI™. The 2x and 4x rate modes allow a maximum of 24Mbps data rates. A phase-locked loop (PLL), prescaler, and fractional baud-rate generator allow for high-resolution baud-rate programming and minimize the dependency of baud rate on reference clock frequency. Autosleep and shutdown modes help reduce power consumption during periods of inactivity. A low 640µA (typ) supply current and tiny 24-pin TQFN (3.5mm x 3.5mm) package make the MAX3107 ideal for low-power portable devices. Integrated logic-level translation on the controller and transceiver (RX/TX and RTS/CTS) interfaces enable use with a wide selection of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers. Automatic hardware and software flow control with selectable FIFO interrupt triggering offloads low-level activity from the host controller. Automatic half-duplex

It supports a maximum data rate of 24Mbps and offers flexibility in baud-rate programming and reference clock selection with the phase-locked loop (PLL) and fractional baud-rate generators. The MAX3109 also features independent logic-level translation on the transceiver and controller interfaces, making it easy to interface with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and transceivers powered by differing supply voltages. It supports automatic hardware and software flow control with selectable FIFO interrupt triggering to offload low-level activity from the host controller. The MAX3109 also supports automatic half-duplex transceiver control with programmable setup and hold times, making it suitable for high-speed applications such as PROFIBUS-DP. It is available in a 32-pin TQFN (5mm x 5mm) package and specified for the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.
