An 8-bit serial word determines the desired output gain over a 59.45 dB range, resulting in gain changes of 0.7526 dB/LSB. The AD8325 comprises a digitally controlled variable attenuator of 0 dB to -59.45 dB, which is preceded by a low noise, fixed gain buffer and is followed by a low distortion high power amplifier. AD8326 is a high output power programmable CATV line driver from Analog Devices. It supports DOCSIS standard and has a programmable gain range of 0.75dB steps over 53.5dB. AD8326 features low distortion, high output power and high bandwidth, and is suitable for CATV terminal devices and other applications.

The AD8327 is a low-cost, 160MHz bandwidth, 5V supply operation, digitally controlled gain CATV line driver. It meets the DOCSIS standard for reverse path transmission. The device provides 0.3dB to 48.16dB gain, programmed in 6.02dB gain steps. The AD8327 supports SPI interface, and has sleep and transmit enable modes.
