Motorola Thyristor is a reverse blocking thyristor designed primarily for half-wave AC control applications, such as motor controls, heating controls, and power supply crowbar circuits. It features glass passivated junctions with center gate fire for greater parameter uniformity and stability. The device is small, rugged, and thermally efficient, allowing for low thermal resistance, high heat dissipation, and durability. It has a blocking voltage of up to 800 volts and can withstand surge currents of 300 amps. The insulated package simplifies mounting.
