MCR225-2FP is a reverse blocking thyristor produced by Motorola. This thyristor can be used for half-wave ac control circuits such as motor controls, heating controls and power supply crowbar circuits. This thyristor has the following characteristics: glass passivated junction, center gate fire, greater parameter uniformity and stability; small, rugged, thermowatt constructed for low thermal resistance, high heat dissipation and durability; blocking voltage up to 800 volts; 300 amps surge current capability; insulated package simplifies mounting.
