The ST7036 is a low power, high performance, multifunction dot matrix liquid crystal display controller/driver LSI that displays alphanumeric, Japanese kana characters, and symbols. It can be configured to drive a dot matrix liquid crystal display under the control of a 4-/8-bit, serial or fast I2C interface microprocessor. Since all the functions such as display RAM, character generator, and liquid crystal display controller are contained in the LSI, no external components are required, which reduces the external component cost and system size. The ST7036 also has many other features that make it an ideal solution for a wide variety of applications.
