The STi5211 is a low-cost HDTV satellite set-top box decoder that supports Microsoft VC-1, H.264, and MPEG-2 formats. The product features a high-performance ST40-300 CPU for Linux, Windows CE, and OS21 based systems. It integrates DVB-S2 and DVB-S front-end demodulators with a fully-featured SD advanced decoder SoC. The decoder includes a flexible ST231 based advanced video decoder and a 450 MHz ST231 audio decoder supporting WMA9, AC3, DD+, AAC, and AAC+ formats with SPDIF output. The SD display supports 2 video, 3 graphics planes, and background color with high-quality filtering. It also includes HDMI/HDCP output, SD component and composite output. The product has a unified DDR2 16-bit interface operating at up to 333 MHz, a programmable transport interface (PTI), and transport stream (TS) merger with multiple digital external TS inputs, internal inputs from internal demodulators, and a TS input from memory for network client.
