This document describes a solar battery charger for single-cell Li-ion and Li-Pol batteries based on the SPV1040 and L6924D, capable of up to 5W power output. The SPV1040 is a solar boost converter with embedded maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm, featuring high efficiency, low input voltage, and various protection features. The L6924D is a fully integrated linear charger solution with precise battery voltage regulation and multiple programmable charge modes. It also has temperature control, low battery leakage current, and flexible charge process termination.
