The STEVAL-ISA076V2 demonstration board is a USB compatible battery charger with an integrated power switch. It is designed for Li-Ion/Li-Polymer batteries and can operate with an input voltage of up to 12V. The board features a fully integrated solution with a power MOSFET, reverse blocking diode, sense resistor, and thermal control. It supports AC adapter or USB mode selection and allows for separate programmable charge currents for both AC adapter and USB power sources. In USB mode, it supports low power/high power selection and can operate in both linear and quasi-pulse modes. The board has a preset charge voltage of 4.2V with ±1% accuracy, programmable termination current, and programmable charge timer. It also provides status outputs for driving LEDs or host processor interface, battery absence detection, closed loop thermal control, and NTC or PTC thermistor interface for battery temperature monitoring and protection. The board is RoHS compliant.
