ST STEVAL-IHM013V1 handbook

This document describes a low-end vacuum cleaner demonstration board based on ST7FLiteUS5 and BTB12. It features an AC motor speed regulation system, high current protection, full bag checking, start/stop button, potentiometer (speed adjustment), LED checking, and sense resistor (current sensing). The board is designed for universal motor driving based on phase angle control and can be easily adapted for vacuum cleaner, home appliance, or industrial applications. The electronic driver with TRIAC and microcontroller is cost-effective and easy to implement. Microcontroller designs are replacing analog solutions even in low-cost applications due to their advantages of soft-start function, compliance with IEC 61000-3-3 standard on inrush currents, flexibility, fewer external components, and easy adaptation through simple software modifications.
