The document is an instruction manual for the HI 99171 portable waterproof leather and paper pH meter. All Hanna Instruments meters are covered by a two-year warranty, with the probes having a warranty period of six months. The warranty includes free repair or replacement, but does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, tampering, or lack of maintenance as instructed. If service is required, the instrument should be taken to the dealer from whom it was purchased, and relevant information such as model number, purchase date, serial number, and nature of the problem should be provided. If the repair is not covered by the warranty, the customer will be informed of the incurred charges. If the instrument needs to be returned to Hanna Instruments, a Returned Goods Authorization Number should be obtained from the Customer Service department, and the shipping costs should be prepaid. Proper packaging for complete protection is advised when shipping the instrument.
