Thermodesorption (TD) is an optimal sample handling technique for gas chromatography. This technique allows volatile and semi-volatile organic substances from various sample matrices to be directly introduced into a GC or GC/MS system. The flexible, highly sensitive, and fully automated TD method is mainly used in environmental analysis, material analysis, food analysis, fragrance and aroma substance analysis, etc. Markes International has set new standards in TD systems with their Series 2 UNITY, ULTRA, Air Server, and CIA 8 products, which meet international standards and enable efficient and accurate analysis of samples from standard tubes, air, or canisters.
