This document introduces the application of Agilent MIXED gel technology in gel permeation chromatography and size exclusion chromatography columns. This technology allows different pore size gels to be blended together to create a column with a linear calibration suitable for a specific molecular weight range. Selectivity in GPC/SEC separations can be controlled by adjusting the column length and the pore size distribution of the packing material. Compared to individual pore size gels, MIXED gel packing provides a larger molecular weight range and better separation performance.
