The Agilent MSD Security ChemStation is a software that controls data acquisition, performs library searches and quantitation, and generates selected reports via methods or sequences. The software addresses all aspects of data security, integrity, and traceability mandated by FDA’s 21 CFR Part 11. Access to the application is protected by a mandatory logon with a user identification code and password. Paper trails are replaced by audit-proof and reliable electronic records. The software manages versions electronically and provides a user-independant audit trail along with electronic signing capabilities. Electronic records generated by the application are always linked to all related raw, meta, and result data. The MSD Security ChemStation software is designed to run on personal computers with Microsoft® Windows operating environments. The MSD Security ChemStation software is supplied on CD-ROM and contains extensive online help with both task and reference information about system operation. The example methods and data files supplied with the software can be used to practice and learn the MSD Security ChemStation software. The MSD Security ChemStation software can be configured to support a single online instrument, with a maximum of one MSD and one GC detector. The following Agilent instruments are supported: • 5973A, 5973N, and 5973 inert MSDs • 6890A, 6890 Plus, and 6890N GCs
