Agilent Technologies Effect of eXtra-Dense Bonding Double End Capping on Peakshape

Update: 29 September, 2023

This article discusses the effect of Rx silica, eXtra-Dense Bonding, and double end capping on peak shape, as well as the improved chromatographic performance of Eclipse XDB column packings for basic molecules (P and A) at neutral pH. By reducing the interaction of basic molecules with the packing surface, good peak shape is achieved. ZORBAX XDB-C8 exhibits better peak shape than Symmetry C8, even for the strongly basic molecule amitriptyline.
