The DP83902A ST-NIC is a serial network interface controller designed for twisted pair local area networks using CSMA/CD. It supports Ethernet, Thin Ethernet, and Twisted-pair Ethernet, and complies with IEEE 802.3 standards. The controller features a fully compliant 10BASE-T transceiver that supports receiver, transmitter, collision detection, heartbeat, loopback, jabber, and link integrity functions as defined in the standard. It also includes Manchester encoding and decoding, diagnostic loopback capability, and provides an IEEE compliant AUI interface.
