Agilent Technologies Application of Multicomponent Analysis to HPLC Diode Array Detection for the Quantitation of Partially Resolved Peaks
Update: 29 September, 2023
This article describes the method of quantitation of partially resolved peaks using multicomponent analysis (MCA) in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with diode array detection. MCA allows accurate quantitation and identification of unknown components even under partial or zero resolution conditions. It also provides a more thorough assessment of peak homogeneity compared to other purity assessment techniques. The method enables quantitation of small peaks fused to a major peak, even when they are not visually detected or integrated separately, without the need to select different optimum wavelengths to distinguish the compounds.
