Agilent Single-stage Extract Clean-up in Pesticides determination using Agilent Enviroprep application note

Update: 28 September, 2023

The document describes the use of Agilent EnviroPrep in single-stage extract clean-up for the determination of pesticides using high performance gel permeation chromatography (GPC). This method can be used for the determination of pesticides in various organic matrices, such as soil and animal tissue. GPC easily eliminates higher molecular weight fractions such as lipids, polymers, natural resins, and dispersed high molecular weight components. These species are relatively non-volatile, so their removal from the extract before GC/MS analysis of pesticides and other pollutants extends the lifetime of the GC column and improves chromatographic efficiency. Agilent EnviroPrep GPC columns, with their small pore size (100Å) and low exclusion limit (4,000 g/mol), are ideal for preparative applications, offering high resolution and high loading (>10 mg on-column loading of the components in this analysis).
