The ADT7466 dBCool controller is a complete thermal monitor and dual fan controller for low acoustic noise notebook PCs. It features the ability to monitor two analog voltages or thermistor temperature inputs, control and monitor the speed of up to two fans, automatic fan speed control mode based on measured temperature, enhanced acoustic mode to reduce user perception of changing fan speeds, thermal protection feature via THERM output to monitor the performance impact of Intel® Pentium® 4 processor thermal control circuit, and 3-wire fan speed measurement with limit comparison of all monitored values via SMBus 1.1 serial interface.
