LINEAR Pass HDMI Compliance Tests with Ease Design Note 394 Bill Martin 08/06/394 Introduction

This document introduces the LTC4300A-1 bus buffer, which includes capacitance buffering to help devices pass the HDMI DDC input capacitance compliance test with ease. It also includes an enable pin for hardware control of the input-to-output connection and rise time accelerators for fast bus transitions. With an input capacitance of less than 10pF, the LTC4300A-1 allows the HDMI connector interface's capacitance buffering to easily pass the DDC input capacitance test limit, even if the internal capacitance of the channel is substantially higher.
