AD5241/AD5242 are I2C-compatible 256-position digital potentiometers with options for 10 kΩ, 100 kΩ, and 1 MΩ resistance values. They have a low temperature coefficient and an internal power on midscale preset feature. They can be powered by a single supply of 2.7 V to 5.5 V or a dual supply of ±2.7 V for AC or bipolar operation. They feature an I2C-compatible interface with readback capability, extra programmable logic outputs, self-contained shutdown feature, and an extended temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. They are suitable for applications in multimedia, video, audio, communications, mechanical potentiometer replacement, instrumentation for gain and offset adjustment, programmable voltage-to-current conversion, and line impedance matching.
