NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR LM2672 Manual

Update: 29 September, 2023

The LM2672 series is a monolithic integrated circuit that serves as a high-efficiency 1A step-down voltage regulator. It offers excellent line and load regulation, and is available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V, as well as an adjustable output version. The LM2672 includes various features such as internal frequency compensation, fixed frequency oscillator, external shutdown, soft-start, and frequency synchronization. Operating at a switching frequency of 260 kHz, it allows for smaller sized filter components compared to lower frequency regulators. With its high efficiency (>90%), the LM2672 only requires copper traces on the PCB for heat sinking. The LM2672 is compatible with a range of standard inductors, diodes, and capacitors for simplified switch-mode power supply designs.
