MAXIM MAX9218 Manual
Update: 30 September, 2023
The MAX9218 is a digital video serial-to-parallel converter from Texas Instruments. It can deserialize 27 bits of data and control signals into 18 bits of parallel video data and 9 bits of parallel control data, so that the video and control signals can be separated and the data transmission rate can be reduced. When paired with the MAX9217 serializer, the MAX9218 forms a complete digital video transmission system. The MAX9218 uses a proprietary decoding method that reduces EMI and provides DC balance. DC balance allows AC coupling, which provides isolation between the transmitting and receiving ends of the interface. The MAX9218 also features a selectable rising or falling edge output latch. The MAX9218 meets the ISO 10605 standard and has ±10kV contact discharge and ±30kV air discharge ESD tolerance. The MAX9218 operates from a +3.3V core supply and features a separate output supply for interfacing to 1.8V to 3.3V logic-level inputs. The MAX9218 is available in 48-lead Thin QFN and LQFP packages and has a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
