The ADM483 is a low power differential line transceiver suitable for half-duplex data communication. This transceiver meets the EIA RS-485/RS-422 standard, offers data rates up to 250 kbps, and has a 100 nA supply current and low power consumption (120 µA). The ADM483 can output high-Z when disabled or powered off within a -7 V to +12 V common-mode range. This transceiver also features thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection, and is pin-compatible with MAX483, specified over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range, and available in an 8-lead SOIC package.
